Disappointing Start

Disappointing Start

It was a disappointing start for the 1st Team on the opening day of the season as they went down 3-1 away to Seagoe.

It had started very well for Town when new signing Bill Morrow found himself one on one with the keeper and he tucked it away to give Town the lead with just 3 minutes on the clock. 2 minutes later and Morrow could have doubled his lead but his cheeky lob came back off the word work. Town lost influential centre half David Clarke after 20 minutes with a head would that required a few staples but none the less they went in at the break 1-0 up.

Now with their faces in the wind it was a much different game for the Town lads. The Lurgan boys found it difficult to get any fluidity into their game. Seagoe added 3 goals in the second period through sloppy defending. Opportunities were there to clear the ball but Town failed and gifted their opponents each of the goals.

A disappointing start to the season but Town have the opportunity to put things right on Tuesday night away to AFC Silverwood at Lakeview Park, Craigavon.
